Ahhh Sunday. The most bitter sweet day of the week. Something about it is so calming but it’s also a reminder that tomorrow is Monday. I wish I could say as I’ve gotten older that Monday’s don’t bother me as much as they used to but I’d be lying. I have gotten a little better at dealing with them thanks to the routine I am going to tell you about. All the products listed are ones that I love at the moment. With so many different Tik Tok and YouTube videos, I am often compelled to try new products. The ones listed below are not only affordable but also convenient if you’re lazy like me and don’t like to do a lot of self pampering ( I much more prefer going to get a facial) but that isn’t practical.
My Sunday starts whenever I feel like getting out of the bed. Since I try to get out of bed and be productive on Saturday, I allow Sunday to be the day I can just lay there and rest or think about life. By 10 I usually am up and ready to either make breakfast or go get breakfast and/or coffee. Again, your routine should be what works best for you and not what everyone else is doing. My phone is usually on do not disturb the night before so I don’t have any early morning texts waking me up (thanks mom).
While eating breakfast I will either catch the Law and Order SVU marathon or catch up on my DVR. This may be little but it brings me joy and if I have the energy I will go for a power walk to catch some vitamin D.
Next up is the grocery store after planning my meals for the week so I know what I need to get. When I get back I’ll tidy up since I already have clean my fridge of old items. I have learned that keeping the house tidy keeps my mind tidy also lol.
Now for the good stuff! I will create a list below since I am the list queen!
Some of these products contain affiliate links. They help me out 🙂
1. Vanity Planet Face Steamer- everyone needs a face steamer! You don’t have to get this one since it’s a little pricey (I got a really good deal on it). I will link it just in case you wanna splurge but any steamer will do. These are said to open your pores which helps all the products really seep in.
2. Aztec Clay Mask– I absolutely SWEAR by this stuff. Honestly I just started taking better care of my skin because I was blessed with good skin on my face lol. My old routine was a wash cloth and water and maybe some moisturizer here and there. But man oh man, this stuff is to die for! When I use it my face looks so freakin clean and fresh. It’s only about 7 bucks and you just mix it with water or ACV and leave it on for about 15 minutes. I LOVE THIS STUFF!
3. Olay Serum– this one helps with wrinkles (or preventing wrinkles) and Olay is such a classic brand you can’t go wrong with it.
4. CeraVe Moisturizer- CeraVe is another product that I swear by. It’s cheaper than Olay and it works just as good if not better. With this one a little goes a long way.
5. Silicone Scrubs– These little things are amazing. It’s way more gentle on the skin and still gets a good clean. I got mine from Amazon.
6. Face Shavers– I know I know it sounds crazy but shaving the peach fuzz off of your face makes it look a million times smoother. Just put a little cleanser and water and shave away. Kind of nasty seeing all the hair you had on your face but it’s so worth it.
7. CeraVe Cleanser- If you are on Tik Tok you will see every dermatologist or esthetician say this cleanser is the best and it is. I tried Neutrogena and Olay cleansers and this one is the keeper.
8. Jade Roller– this helps reduce puffiness which I tend to get in the face. For better results pop it in the fridge for about 20 minutes and OMG thank me later. This one also comes with a Gua Sha which helps with puffiness also. Here is a Vogue article on Gua Sha benefits. I saw it on Tik Tok lol.
9. Soap and Glory– Now for the rest of your body. I stumbled upon these while cruising the Target aisles. This exfoliating gel left me smooth for days! And this body butter is the absolute best smelling thing I’ve ever smelled (that’s not food). I literally just sit and smell it because smells so damn amazing.
10. Eucalyptus Candle– When doing any form of pampering I always light a candle. This one is the best one because it gives just enough scent. They are a bit pricey but I’ve tried other candles and they didn’t give off enough scent for me. So if you’re feeling risky, go for it!
After applying all these products to my body it’s usually closer to the evening so I will catch up on more TV or call a friend to chat. One of my favorite ways to close out Sunday is by listening to my favorite sermons on YouTube. My go to’s are Pastor Steven Furtick or Pastor John Gray. They always motivate me and put me in the best mood to end the day. I will usually listen to them while planning any goals or tasks I need to accomplish for the week.
The key to Self Care Sunday is to do what you want to do and whatever puts you in a high vibration or positive state. Let me know your favorite things to do on Sunday.
